Cloud kitchen complaint forensics from KOT timestamps
· Updated · Slinai
Key facts
| Input | Complaint or refund ID + KOT/POS timestamp window |
|---|---|
| Output | Clip timeline of the stations that ticket passed through |
| Not claimed | Reading logos or dish identity off generic packaging |
| Sibling | Order-to-bag SLA is lateness; this is wrong or missing after the bag left |
| Module | Data & integrations for the join; Video AI for the clip |
The refund says order 1842 was missing the side. The NVR has four hours of a busy line. Nobody will watch it.
Complaint forensics is the join: order ID → KOT time → the cameras that saw that window. Slinai does this with data & integrations on existing CCTV. Lateness is order-to-bag SLA. Grocery miss-packs are dark-store order accuracy. This post is delivery-kitchen complaints. Hub: cloud kitchens.

What you can reconstruct
| You have | You can say | You cannot say |
|---|---|---|
| KOT print to bag-nudge times | Which station was active in that window | The exact gram of a topping |
| Pickup-shelf clip in the same window | Whether a bag sat or a second rider took it | Rider identity |
| Two tickets open on one assembly table | Process risk for a mix-up | Which SKU was wrong, unless a scan says so |
| No camera on the station | “We cannot see this step” | A confident root cause |
Say the gap out loud. A forensic tool that invents a cause will get switched off after one wrong accusation.

A review that CX will actually use
- CX sends the order ID and the complaint type (missing, wrong, cold, spilled).
- The join opens the station clips inside the KOT window, not a 40-minute scrub.
- Kitchen lead marks: station error, bag mix-up, or not visible.
- Cold complaints that were actually a pickup dwell stay in the handoff chat. Do not coach the grill for a shelf that sat 12 minutes.
Restaurant POS fraud is a till exception. Do not send food complaints to the cash group.

Common questions
Can the camera read the dish in the bag?
Usually no. Generic boxes do not show the SKU. Forensics reconstructs who was at which station during that ticket’s timestamp window.
How is this different from dark-store order accuracy?
Dark stores watch a grocery pack bench and QC pause. This post watches a cook line and a complaint ID. Do not reuse the grocery polygons.
Do we need the aggregator order number?
You need a timestamp join: aggregator or POS order to KOT print time. Without that, you have a busy kitchen and no way to pick the minute.
Will this prove the rider swapped the bag?
Only if the pickup camera covers the handoff minute. Otherwise say so. A cook-line clip cannot accuse a rider who was never in frame.
Is this POS fraud?
No. Restaurant billing fraud is voids and drawer opens. This is a guest complaint about the food that left.
